The local mayor, Jørgen Gaarde of the Skanderborg Municipality, had the honour of cutting the ribbon to officially open the new technology wing that will house 100 of the company’s development engineers.
"You have to pinch yourself in the arm a little sometimes, when you consider what’s happening at Kamstrup and how fast it’s all going. The fact that the company is growing so rapidly in an innovative area is outstanding. It is a huge development and it will be noticed not just in the Skanderborg municipality, but also in the rest of the country," says Jørgen Gaarde.
The growing demand for intelligent solutions for measuring energy and water has led to record-breaking results for Kamstrup in recent years. The company continues to invest heavily in product development, ensuring its customers get cutting edge solutions that meet their specific needs.
"We created more than 100 new jobs in 2015 and expect to do the same this year. The majority of the positions are in development and that is because we are a technology leader in our industry, "says Henrik Rom, CFO at Kamstrup.
With the paint barely dry on the new building, Kamstrup is already well underway with plans for yet another extension.According to Henrik Rom, the company’s good relationship with the Skanderborg Municipality is playing an important role in Kamstrup’s rapid expansion:
"We plan to break ground for a new building of over 10,000 m2 before the summer holidays. The local planning approval and administrative procedures went through the municipality as fast as they possibly could, while remaining within the frameworks of the law. That is testament to the goodwill of the municipality and the great cooperation we have with them. It’s something that’s really important for our growth.”
