Four Norwegian power utilities have come together to purchase a smart metering solution from Kamstrup. The order includes more than 50,000 meters and means that in the future, the utilities will have far more rational operations.
The Norwegian consortium consisting of Guldbrandsdal Energi, Valdres Energiverk, Eidefoss and Vang Energiverk has chosen Kamstrup as supplier of a smart metering solution that includes meters, communication system, central system and integration.
In addition, the four power utilities will gain clear operational benefits from a hosting agreement with Kamstrup. The agreement ensures continuous, stable operations for the four companies and means that they will not have to make costly investments in IT hardware or establish unprofitable operations departments.

The roll-out is scheduled for the beginning of 2016 and will continue until the end of 2018.
