Goodbye to mechanical meters

Hello to smart metering!

5 reasons why you should choose an ultrasonic meter over a mechanical meter

To think forward and prepare for the future, sometimes we need to change our perspectives and say goodbye to old ways. This is also true when it comes to consumption metering – even though it is just a small part of your business. With technology and needs constantly changing, it is time to say goodbye to the mechanical meters and hello to the benefits of smart meters. Because even though the mechanical meter has been a good companion for decades, in today's digital world, good is no longer good enough. Smart meters are the future. And here are some reasons why:

Pinpoint accuracy

All our smart meters are based on market leading ultrasonic technology, which means that unlike the mechanical meter, it maintains the same pinpoint accuracy throughout its entire lifetime. Besides from measuring consumption from the second the residents turn on the heat, this also significantly improves the quality of the data collected and enables accurate and fair billing – to the benefit of property management and residents alike.

Leak detection

A range of integrated info codes in our heat meters makes it easy and effective to detect leaks, bursts and other irregularities that negatively impact consumption levels. This not only helps the property management act quickly in case a heat pipe leaks or bursts and thereby prevent excessive heat loss or damage to buildings and/or personal belongings. It also reduces maintenance costs and saves a lot of time otherwise spent on rehousing.

Remote reading

With built-in remote reading capabilities, the ultrasonic meter enables data collection from a distance without any extra add-on, unlike the mechanical meter. This not only eliminates the need for gaining access to the meter to read the data. It also removes the risk of inaccurate or faulty readings and thereby makes time-consuming follow-ups a thing of the past. Time and resources  are then freed for other more value-adding activities in the property management.

Longevity

The measuring principle within the ultrasonic meter does not involve any moving parts, unlike the mechanical meter. It is therefore not affected by the wear and tear that every meter is naturally exposed to during a life in service. As a result, the ultrasonic meter not only has a lifetime of up to 16 years and it requires an absolute minimum of maintenance during this period of time.
