What is your role, and what do you work with?
My name is Ioan, and I work as a Back-End Software Developer in the Analytics department in Spain, where I am actively working on the software solutions for the Water part of the business. The most popular one is the Leak Detector which has constant upgrades due to the ambitious work done with my great teammates.
Why are you in Spain?
Our Analytics department also has an office in Spain, Malaga, with approximately 30 employees. Thanks to the opportunities provided by Kamstrup, I had the chance to experience three months working from the Spanish office where I got to interact physically, not just online, with a part of my team whom I work with every day.
How has the experience been?
The experience in Spain is wonderful as I get to collaborate with valuable and friendly colleagues who encourage personal growth. Additionally, I get to enjoy the weather, city sights, and the overall atmosphere that Malaga offers. While in this vibrant environment, I am very focused on improving both my professional and personal skills.
What motivates you in your work?
In this vast professional landscape, I believe in making every opportunity count. As I embark on my career, I'm driven by the desire to learn, to grow, and to leave a meaningful impact. It’s not just about a job or a title; it's about the journey of becoming the best version of myself and contributing positively wherever I am.
Can you elaborate on the technologies you are working with?
In my professional role, I actively work with .NET for robust application development. I complement this with Microsoft Azure to optimize our cloud infrastructure. For version control and collaboration, GitLab is our platform of choice. Service Fabric aids in efficiently managing our microservices, and when orchestrating containers, we utilize Docker in conjunction with Kubernetes. While these form the foundation of my technological toolkit there could be many others to mention.
Fun fact:
Before I started my software career, I was a professional Ice Hockey player.
