As a member of the Business Development Management team in Kamstrup, I’m primarily occupied with activities of more strategic nature. Specifically, my work is scoping out new, viable markets for Kamstrup. I have expertise in getting to understand a given market; what the needs are, how Kamstrup can accommodate those needs, and how to deliver our products and solutions. This work requires a lot of insight into various aspects of market penetration, but I also have to transform the knowledge I gain into more concrete material that makes sense to the people in the technology department, so they have something to work with when designing and developing new products.
I’m happy to work with great colleagues, at an organisation that wants to challenge the status quo, creating new products and services rather than “just” improving upon what already exists – to me, that’s highly motivating. Furthermore, I feel privileged that I get to do my part in creating a more sustainable world, changing the way water is being used. I’ve worked in different positions and branches of the water industry since 2003, both on the utility side and as a supplier; water is a resource I find extremely interesting. It’s so fundamental for all life, yet many people don’t think much of it. At least not until they don’t have it.
The launch of Kamstrup’s smart meters with acoustic leak detection is definitely a memorable thing for me. In my work, it’s one of the biggest things I’ve been part of. The science behind it, the engineering and technology that went into developing it, the fact that it relieves one of the industry’s biggest pains, and the way it’s been so well-received by utilities really made it a success and I’m thrilled I got to be part of its creation.
Another moment, which I won’t forget anytime soon, is the time I warmed up for the major Danish rock band, D-A-D, when they played for Kamstrup in 2017. I play the guitar in a band consisting of people who work at Kamstrup, and it was great fun for us to play music and hype up the crowd for them.
