New Ultrasonic Water Meter from Kamstrup - MULTICAL® 61

Under the headline “When every Drop Counts” Kamstrup launches a new water meter based on ultrasound measurement.
Eight Dimensions
The product range encompasses eight dimensions with a flow range from 1,6m3/h up until 40m3/h with flange connection which makes the MULTICAL® 61 suited for domestic use as well as for trade and industry.
The MULTICAL® 61 registers even the tiniest water consumption according to dripping water taps. At the same time it endures two times the normal flow. It belongs to the undisputable advantages of the ultrasonic flow sensor that it can not be overloaded.
Absence of mechanical parts guarantees a long product life with unchanged accuracy which keeps operation costs at a minimum.
The temperature range covers from 0,1…50º C.
Leak surveillance
The MULTICAL® 61 calculator is exceptional due to a large and readable display with a wide range of features including volume display, reading of billing data, and historical values. An integrated data logger stores consumption data 15 years back in time.
MULTICAL® 61 also enables leak surveillance. A 24/7 monitoring of the water flow through the meter registers leaking toilet cisterns, water boiler spirals, and other leakages that eventually can mean unpleasant extra bills if the damages are not duly detected.
Easy Automatic Remote Reading
The MULTICAL® 61 is prepared for automatic remote reading via radio technology, GSM and a number of wired communication standards. Radio based reading requires only the insertion of a communication module. With remote reading the water utility is capable of a quick and accurate read out without disturbing the customer – no need for manual reading, neither by the customer himself nor by an operator from the utility. Remote reading opens up possibilities for meter reading according to need; it prevents reading errors caused by the human eye and delayed reading reports that increase the costs of administering and operating a meter park.
Comfort
By use of a 2,5m cable the calculator can be placed in a more comfortable position and not necessarily in direct contact with the flow part. The distance between flow part and calculator can by means of a pulse transmitter be further prolonged up to 10m which enables the placing of the calculator, and thus the display, in an entire different room.
MULTICAL® 61 can be supplied by the power grid or by a battery with up to 12 years lifetime.
Highest Standard
MULTICAL® 61 has been tested and approved according to the international OIML R49 standard and is thereby delivered in accordance with the MID (Measuring Instruments Directive) 2004/22/EC. In addition the MULTICAL® 61 has been CE-labelled in accordance with the following directives:
- the EMC-directive 89/336/EØF
- the LV-directive 2006/95/EF
- the PE-directive 97/23/EF (DN 50...DN 80) category 1
